Retail Summit, the largest retail event in Central and Eastern Europe, celebrates its jubilee 15th year – will nevertheless not represent ceremonial party only. The retail market enters very critical period and calls for detailed discussion how to go o
n. After fifteen relatively easy years of development of modern trade tough times are coming – most of all due to the starting lack of money. The shoppers will think about their retail expenditures twice – not just due to the slowing growth of real incomes but also in respect to new opportunities to spend money in other industries, or even abroad. Other sources of money are being limited as well, and not just because of financial crisis. Investors and bankers understand very well that period of unsaturated trade market belongs to the history and take very conservative approach towards financing of retailing.
Summit organizers believe now is the right time to energize the drying-off sources of money through innovative ideas, knowledge and shared experience.
They have prepared extensive and intensive program aiming to deliver inspiration for both short and long term strategies. Here are its selected highlights:
- CEO panel – discussion of top executives and experts on the situation and prospects of the retail market
- Key note from Noel Robbins, CEO of TESCO Central and Eastern Europe
- Category specific sessions focused on hottest challenges of food, non-food and fashion retail
- Speeches and discussion workshops dedicated to crucial strategic topics such as HR development, efficient marketing and communication, expansion, quality in retailing, new technologies and last but not least economic energy management
The annual summit is targeted on everyone who wants to succeed in the demanding market of the next fifteen years – no matter how big he or she is and what is the geographical footprint. That is why the program reserves large space to the topics relevant to small and middle-sized companies.
The ambition of the Retail Summit 2009 is not just to support the industry in getting the right inspiration and information but also to contribute to the improvement of general mood
which has went down recently. Ideal opportunity to do so will be the evening party „Finally Some Recession In the Retail Market“ directed by famous Czech moderator Jan Pokorný.
Retail Summit takes place on February 3-4 in Top Hotel Praha
, organised by Blue Events together with Czech Confederation of Commerce and Tourism, University of Economics in Prague and journals Moderní obchod and TextilŽurnál. The organizers thank to all summit partners, namely to the expert guarantor - Oracle company and exclusive mobility supplier - Hyundai.
